The Peter Webster Band focus on the blusier, jazzier side of popular music. Each band member is a seasoned musician, with twenty-plus years of experience, including performing in front of thousands at festivals, playing at weddings, pub gigs and dedicated music festivals. They combine a professional approach with an enjoyment of what they do, playing a mixture of Peter's original songs and well-known classics.

Peter's musical career started, but fortunately didn't finish, at the age of eight with a short-lived stint as a cornet player in the Seaford Silver Band. As a twelve-year old he took up the guitar and quickly became obsessed, playing in local bands and learning classical and Flamenco styles. Peter has recently released an album of original material, but gets equal pleasure from playing classic songs of the past. He regularly performs at pubs, clubs and festivals.

Roger began learning piano from the age of 6, and despite a strict traditional music education, quickly found enjoyment through improvisation, composition, and playing by ear. After a brief period of playing bass guitar and drums, Roger returned to piano and went on to study Music at Surrey University where he frequently played in jazz groups and student pop bands. After graduating, Roger moved to London where he quickly took advantage of the opportunity for gigs with a variety of New Soul, Funk and Jazz Bands. He continues to work as a freelance musician, and to be the regular keyboard player in a number of bands.

Steve began playing guitar and bass in university bands, and graduated to double bass as soon as he could afford one. He played for years in various folk, rock and blues bands. Greatest musical moment: headlining the 100 Club in London with his own band, the Southsiders. Greatest other musical moment: carrying blues legend Dave Myers's amplifier into the Checkerboard Lounge in Chicago. He listened to Steve for five minutes and told him to stay in the pocket, advice he's tried to follow ever since. As well as playing in several local bands, Steve is also part of the Open University orchestra.

Richard's musical career dates back to the late 1960s, when he played in a North London pop band. He then graduated to a Central London jazz band, playing a gig in St Paul's Cathedral and some recording for the BBC World Service. As well as the the usual circuit of working men's clubs and pubs, Richard has played with Humphrey Littleton and P J Proby, as well as a host of amateur shows and pantomimes, ten years with a jump jive band and most recently with a jazz and blues band. His career highlight (so far!) was a tour of Israel and the United States that included playing on the Golan Heights overlooking the Sea of Galilee and at the New York School for the Performing arts.
